Plantar Fasciitis - Heel Pain

When I first started Bhangra Blaze I made a serious error in choosing the wrong footwear. After a few weeks, the base of my foot started to hurt but I ignored the pain thinking it would go. After a couple of months, the pain got worse and now seemed to have transferred more to the heel. It was worse in the morning and felt like hot sharp needles being pushed through my heel. The first few steps were agony. The pain eased up a little as the day progressed. Self-diagnosis led me to plantar fasciitis which is one of the most common causes of heel pain.

The plantar fascia is a flat band of tissue (ligament) that connects your heel to your toes and supports the arch of your foot. If you strain the plantar fascia it gets weak, swollen and inflamed. Sudden damage, or damage that occurs over many months or years, can cause tiny tears (microtears) to develop inside the tissue of the plantar fascia. This is what causes the plantar fascia to thicken, resulting in heel pain. I tried everything except steroid injections, but nothing helped. The miracle for me happened when I saw this method of strapping the foot on social media. It showed how to strap my foot in such a way that the plantar fascia would be supported so less damage would be caused and also allow healing to take place. Within a few days I felt improvement and within a month or so the pain had totally gone.

Although the pain has gone I am more cautious these days and if I know I am going to be doing a pretty strenuous workout on my feet, then as a precaution, I will strap my feet up. It worked for me... try it and hopefully it will work for you too ...
